iceland route 429... see other galleries

Route 420 is a road on the Reykjanes peninsula that goes from nowhere to nowhere.... travelling north it goes from Krisuvik, past Seltun and Kleifarvatn. We turned onto route 42 to Reykjavik for the last stretch. It felt like the most remote place we have ever been although it's only about 20km from the capital as the crow flies.

coast road
the road out to sea from Thorlakshofn on the Rekyjanes peninsula. This was a 40km gravel road, just about wide enough for 2 cars to pass. At the end of this road we joined route 429 - more of which later....
