Route 420 is a road on the Reykjanes peninsula that goes from nowhere to
nowhere.... travelling north it goes from Krisuvik, past Seltun and Kleifarvatn.
We turned onto route 42 to Reykjavik for the last stretch. It felt like the most
remote place we have ever been although it's only about 20km from the capital as
the crow flies.
See the
whole journey and our visit in February on our travelatypical flickr gallery.

| coast road |
| the road out to sea from
Thorlakshofn on the Rekyjanes peninsula. This was a 40km gravel road,
just about wide enough for 2 cars to pass. At the end of this road
we joined route 429 - more of which later.... |
