In June 2004 I bought a pastel blue Telecaster Thinline '69 reissue. Mexican made and none the worse for that - this is a pretty close approximation to the original using modern components. The quality of construction and components is at least equal to the BluesHawk, and the G&L that it replaced. Although the body wood is mahogany, there are large voids inside the guitar (much larger than the BluesHawk voids), that result in a very light guitar.

nothing against the stock pickup - but I like Seymour-Duncan Little '59s

the Tele neck pickup - a 50+ year old design which needs no improvement a lovely warm and sparkly sound

...I'll probably change the value of the pots and other components to match the Little '59 better and reduce treble output a bit
