Robbie's 'Hawk pics Robbie's new Landmark

Let me introduce myself. My name is Robbie van de Ven, 45 year old trucker.  I spend most of my free time in my little home studio, trying to create good music. Sometimes I record demos for other people. I bought my first Special in 95. I remember that I was not sure yet what to get; A Strat or a Les Paul. Of course I tried them both. The Strat lacked sustain and the Les Paul was difficult to play in the higher regions. Then I saw the Nighthawk and I immediately liked the looks of it. The sound was very good, especially the slanted humbucker, very powerful. Un-amplified it also had this warm deep sound. I still play it a lot without amp while practicing. I change guitar every week. So they are all played regularly. For recording I mostly use my first Special. The Specials are just as good as the Customs and much cheaper! I use 10-52 heavy bottom- light top strings mostly, except the red special, that I use for slide, it has a 11-52 setup with higher action. I like to expand my collection even more (still space on the wall! ) But since I spent money like crazy last year on the studio, it will have to wait. The Little Lucille, the custom with Floyd Rose, the Blueshawk with Bigsby, the Landmark.......Sigh. And then of course I would like to try the superhawk pickup. The picture (top right) shows my happy self with the 93 Custom - Greetings, Robbie. click for a bigger picture
